About Me

Thank you for visiting The Girata Kitchen. I am a novice home cook and I love to share my passion for food with family and friends — and you! I have two young children, so my recipes are family friendly and always include lots of information on technique and little hints on how to make life in the kitchen a little easier.

I’m a Florida native and grew up in a family who loved to gather around the table and enjoy a great meal together. Food was a way to share our family traditions and pass along our family stories, and I carry that spirit with me. Today, I am a priest at Calvary Episcopal Church in Memphis, Tennessee. I’m married to my college sweetheart, the former Nicole Roenick, who loves to eat my food (true love!).

I love to hear from people who read the blog, so please write notes and comments!
